Moosburg Mental Health Walk to Freising
After the Zugspitze Höllental hike and a tough week, I was too tired to do a difficult hike. As a solution, I opted for a more relaxed hike from Moosburg to Freising. Took enough time to sleep in the morning, had nice breakfast, and set off around 11 AM.
Moosburg itself looked quite plain, with people going about their daily lives. The weather was okay, a bit cloudy but not too bad. I followed the signs towards Niederhummel, passing by some fields and small farms. The trail was well-marked and easy to follow.
Going through Thonstetten, I saw a white stork perched on a rooftop. In Ukraine they are considered a sign of good luck, so I took it as a positive omen for the hike.
Near Oberhummel, I wanted to take a shortcut across a stream, but the wooden bridge was missing. I had to backtrack a bit to find a proper crossing, that's why the route looks weird.
On the way to Rudlfing along the river, I came across a small group of elderly ladies trying to find a way to the Naturfreundehaus Freising Hangenham restaurant. They asked for directions, and I suggested going back to Rudlfing to make it there quicker. They politely declined, so I gave them directions to Hangenham instead.
I continued onwards to Freising, holding a pace of 6 km/h. At the station got a nice Johannisbeer-Streuseltaler and headed home. There were tons of older people on the route, so anyone is welcome to do a portion of it.
