Mikuláš was coming back to Germany and wanted to do a hike together. We planned to hike up Zugspitze, but the weather forecast predicted thunderstorms in the afternoon, so we changed our plan to via ferrata climbing at Hohenglückstein, a rock formation near Fischbrunn. By the way, I did hike Zugspitze with David instead, going up the Reintal and Höllental routes.

The commute was very long and tiring, as we had to change transports in Hersbruck, so we also got to explore the town a bit. We started our hike in Fischbrunn, walking through a beautiful forest to the base of the Norissteig via ferrata.

The climb was fun and easy, with some exposed sections and beautiful views of the surrounding forest.

After finishing the Norissteig, we took a short lunch break and then continued along the cliffs to the Höhenglücksteig via ferrata. This climb was more challenging, with some steep and exposed sections with smaller footholds. But we managed to complete most of it without issues, only needing to skip the last part due to time constraints.

Then, we turned south-east and walked down through the forest to the village of Neutras. The walk was peaceful and scenic, with nice views of the surrounding hills and meadows. From Neutras, we kept walking to Etzelwang, where the train station was located.

Overall, it was a great day of hiking and climbing, with beautiful scenery and fun challenges. I would definitely recommend the Norissteig and Höhenglücksteig via ferratas to anyone looking for a fun and adventurous hike in the area. It's a must-do for any via ferrata enthusiast!

P.S. I thank Mikuláš for joining me on this great trip and the photos he took during the hike!
